manga/anime suggestion

I need an anime or manga that's in the line of, "that's so wrong, but so awesome." As in, a potentially controversial idea that turns into a surprisingly awesome series, in the vein of Saint Young Men (Jesus and the Buddha as room mates) or Axis Powers Hetalia (stereotypes of countries and World War II).
Backstory: The ever-awesome Anime World Order podcast is holding a contest whereby contestants enter a set of series for them to review, generally along some kind of theme. Whoever's anime/manga "playlist" they pick will get a prize. Thus far I have two submissions: a "zombie" edition (Dorohedoro, Saint Young Men again, and Blade of the Immortal); and a "food porn" edition (Iron Wok Jan, Oishinbo, and Ristorante Paradiso). Yes, I am a dork.

Shortpacked!: Leslie is not your errand girl.

Graham brought some toys over today to photograph for the Transformers Wiki, and I thought I'd use one of them to direct some interesting Google-originated visitors to my website. If you have a black Discharge, please consult your family's physician.

Hopefully this isn't too random to be posted here. It's an icon community, and with the frequent knitting talk here, I thought of Riverside when I saw some of their knitting icons. There are a lot of other icons there too, generally in themed posts, but yeah... knitting and other crafty icons are there.

It used to be that artists were like rock stars. Women threw their panties at them as they walked down the street. Michaelangelo could hardly finish the Sistine Chapel for all the lacy unmentionables thrown in his face. Now, you're lucky to be able to afford your own underwear.

Voice mail message #1: "hi Luka, this is dr. X calling to give you the results of your blood test earlier this week and talk about where to go from here. Please give me a call at...."
Voice mail message #2: "hello Luka, this is Dr. Y from Dr. X's office. I have some open appointments with the rheumatologist for a consult. Please call me so we can set one up and discuss our options. Thanks!"
Called back. Results are not conclusive. Two of the tests show I have inflammation markers in my blood, which could be from non-blood-testable RA. With my symptoms and family history, they want to look closer. They can take me as early as August 26.
In the meantime, looks like I'm going to occupational therapy for yet another limb.
